Residential Services

BRIGHT FUTURES START HERE

DePelchin residential facilities in Houston and La Porte provide youth with specialized care to help them overcome behavioral and emotional challenges and develop the skills for successful, bright futures.

Our goal is to improve outcomes for at-risk foster youth.

Our Residential Services are for:

  • Teens in foster care who are pregnant or have children.
  • Older youth struggling with mental, emotional or behavioral challenges and are aging out of foster care (14-18 years old).
  • Young adults who have aged out of foster care and need preparation for independent living.

DePelchin’s residential services allow us to walk alongside teens and young adults on their journey to independence and self-sufficiency.

  • Trained, skilled staff on site 24/7
  • Counseling and mental health services
  • Quality education
  • Parenting education
  • Life skills training

Transitional Living Program

The Transitional Living Program at our Today’s Harbor Campus provides a safe living environment for at-risk youth who are struggling with mental, emotional or behavioral challenges that impact daily functioning and require individualized care.

Services in the Transitional Living Program include:

  • Mental health support
  • Social skills development
  • Emotional coping strategies
  • Life skills education
  • 24/7 staff support on site

Youth in this program will receive the care they need to build confidence and thrive into adulthood.

Supervised Independent Living

DePelchin’s Supervised Independent Living (SIL) program is designed for young adults (18-22) who have aged out of foster care and do not have permanent family connections or the skills to live independently.

Located on DePelchin’s Memorial Campus, the program offers dormitory-style housing to help young adults build responsibility and provide resources that promote a successful transition into adulthood.

SIL residents receive support like:

  • Goal planning
  • Case management and ongoing guidance
  • Employment readiness workshops
  • Financial literacy and money management workshops
  • Mental health services and emotional support

While working or enrolled in school, residents work closely with staff to establish and achieve goals for education, career development, financial stability, and life beyond the SIL Program.
